Broccoli and Mushroom Spaghetti

Broccoli and Mushroom Spaghetti is a delicious spaghetti dish with a distinctive garlic and butter scent, accented by the flavor of chili pepper. Fast and easy to make with the use of frozen pre-cooked broccoli. The key ingredient is soy sauce.

Instructions

  1. Boil broccoli and freeze it

    • Cut broccoli into small (bite-sized) pieces.
    • Pour water into a pot, add salt, then bring it to a boil. 
    • Put cut broccoli into boiling water and boil for 2 minutes. 
    • Once boiled, put broccoli in a colander, and let it cool down. 
    • When it cools down, transfer broccoli into a freezer bag. 
    • Remove air out of the bag and seal it with the zipper. 
    • Write the expiration date on the bag.
    • Put it in the freezer. (A freezer temperature around -18 °C is best.)


  2. Defrost frozen broccoli. (When cooking it for dinner)

    • On the morning of the day that you intend to cook it, take the freezer bag out of the freezer and put it into the refrigerator.


  3. Cut the ingredients

    • Slice the mushrooms. Cut chili peppers into round slices. Chop the garlic finely.


  4. Boil spaghetti

    • Pour water into a pot and bring it to a boil. Add salt. (Amount of salt: 10 g per 1 L of water) 
    • Put spaghetti into boiling water and boil it according to the instructions.


  5. Make broccoli mushroom spaghetti

    • Pour olive oil into a frying pan and heat it up on a medium flame. 
    • Once the pan heats up, add in chopped garlic and fry it for 30 seconds. Then, add cut chili peppers and fry for an additional 30 seconds. 
    • Add sliced mushrooms and fry for 30 seconds. Then, add defrosted broccoli and stir-fry them gently. 
    • Add boiled spaghetti to the fried ingredients. 
    • Add butter and stir-fry the ingredients so that the butter mixes with the pasta.
    • Add soy sauce to season the dish.

Plate and Serve!

Serve the broccoli & mushroom spaghetti on plates. Add grated cheese as desired.
