  • 300 g beef (thinly sliced)

  • 50 g red capsicum (thin strips) 

  • 50 g yellow capsicum (thin strips) 

  • 20 g carrot (thinly strips) 

  • 5 pineapple pieces 

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce 

  • 1/4 cup water

  • 4 tsp garlic (chopped) 

  • 4 tsp ginger (chopped) 

  • 2 tbsp honey 

  • 2 tsp cornstarch

Teriyaki Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry

Did you know that just a pinch of salt and a salt soak makes broccoli greener? Well, do that and while you’re at it, make a comforting teriyaki beef and broccoli dish. Just over half hour, make your own teriyaki sauce and stir-fry juicy beef slices, mustard cabbage, tomatoes and carrots, in the heat of ginger and hot garlic. Sounds complicated? Instructions

  1. Cut and Prepare Vegetables

    • Cut yellow and red capsicum, tomatoes, carrots, broccoli


  2. Making the Teriyaki Sauce

    • In a pan, add some oil, add in garlic, ginger, shallots and sauté for a bit
    • Add water, soy sauce, a little bit of honey, some sugar and tapioca starch. 
    • Stir and let it simmer for 10 minutes to reduce sauce until nice and thick


  3. Preparing the Beef

    • Slice beef into thin strips
    • Dice 2 pieces of pineappleinto cubes and squeeze the juice onto the beef slices
    • Leave beef to marinate for 10 minutes


  4. Blanch the Broccoli

    • In a pot of boiling water, add ½ tsp of salt
    • Add cut broccoli in and blanch for 5-6 minutes
    • Remove broccoli and soak them in ice water to stop it from cooking further


  5. Cooking the beef

    • Add a pinch of salt to the marinated beef and mix well
    • In a pan, add some oil and let it heat up a little
    • Add beef slices into the pan and cook for about 40 seconds or when beef is cooked


  6. Combine and Assembling the dish

    • In a pan, add some oil and cook carrots, capsicums and blanched broccoli for 5-6 minutes
    • Add cooked sliced beef and 2 tbsp of the teriyaki sauce
    • Stir and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes
