Matcha Black Sesame Puffed Rice Treats

Puffed Rice treats, a childhood favourite, are given an adult upgrade with bitter matcha powder and sesame seeds. This no-bake sweet treat is great for the whole family, and are perfect for snacking on throughout the festive season.

Instructions

  1. Make puffed rice treats

    • Line a brownie pan with greaseproof paper, making sure the base and sides are covered. 
    • In a pot over medium heat, melt the butter and marshmallows together until smooth. Stir in the matcha powder.
    • Pour in the puffed rice cereal, and a pinch of salt, and stir until everything is evenly combined.
    • Scrape the mixture out into the prepared brownie pan, then sprinkle the black sesame seeds generously on the top.
    • Press the mixture with a spatula to compress and even it out.
    • Leave it to cool at room temperature for an hour, until firm. Remove the treats from the pan, and cut into squares.
