  • 500 g prawn

  • 10 cloves thai garlic

  • 1 coriander root

  • 1 tbsp black peppercorn

  • 2 tbsp fish sauce

  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tbsp water

  • 2 tbsp deep fried garlic (ready-made)

  • 3 coriander leaves

  • 1 cucumber (sliced)

  • 4 bowls of steamed white rice

Garlic Pepper Prawns (Goong Tod Gratiem Prik Thai)

Instructions

  1. Blend garlic pepper paste

    • Using a mortar or a blender, blend garlic, coriander root and black peppercorn until it forms a paste.
    • Set it aside.


  2. Add seafood and seasoning

    • In a mixing bowl, add 1 tbsp fish sauce and prawns and mix well.
    • Heat a non-stick pan with 3 tbsp vegetable oil on medium heat.
    • Next, add garlic pepper paste into the pan and stir for about 15 seconds or until it’s fragrant.
    • Next, add the seasoned prawns in. 
    • Season with oyster sauce, soy sauce sauce, and 1 tbsp fish sauce and sugar. Stir to combine.
    • Transfer prawns to a serving plate and set it aside.


Plate and Serve!

Garnish prawns with cucumbers, fried garlic and coriander leaves. Pair it with steamed white rice before serving.
