1 ¼ cup brown lentils
1 ¼ cup course bulgur (washed and strained) - a type of cereal grain
4 large onons (finely chopped)
½ cup olive oil
salt (to taste)
1 tsp ground cumin
water (for boiling)
salad ingredients:
1 small head of red cabbage (finely sliced)
2 garlic cloves
¼ cup vinegar
salt (to taste)
¼ cup olive oil
squeeze of lemon
Mix all the dressing ingredients and pour over the cabbage and mix well. Serve next to mjaddara.
