Ingredients

  • Serves 2-4 people
  • 4 eggs  

  • ½ tbsp tapioca flour 

  • 1 tsp garlic powder     

  • 1 tsp white pepper      

  • ¼ tsp pepper 

  • ½ tsp chicken powder 

  • ¼ tsp salt 

  • 150 ml water 

  • 80 g vermicelli noodles  

  • 1 L oil 

     

  • sauce ingredients:

    2 large red chillies    

  • 2 clove garlic  

  • 1 tbsp tomato sauce  

  • 2 tbsp chili sauce 

  • 3 tbsp chicken powder 

  • 3 tbsp sugar  

  • 2 tbsp lime juice

  • 2 tbsp maizena/corn starch

  • 100 ml water

Egg rolls are a variation of fried egg where an egg is fried and then rolled using a skewer which is usually made from bamboo wood . This food is often served and sold in several schools, especially at the elementary school

Instructions

  1. Making the Sauce

    • Mix all the ingredients except the lime juice, and cornstarch (maizena) into a Blender and mix into a soft and fine mix. 
    • Once blended, prepare a pan to cook the sauce, until heated/bubbly and cooked. (mixture of 20 ml of water and 10 gr of cornstarch) Liquify the maizena, and mix it into the saucepan 
    • add in the lime juice and stir well and set aside. 


  2. Whisk Eggs

    • Prepare a bowl, and whisk the eggs, adding the remaining ingredients and mix well until showing a little bit of foam.

  3. Frying Pan for the Egg rolls

    • Prepare the sauce pan, deep and wide. Heat 1 litre of oil, 150 dc Then using a ladle, scoop the whisk eggs and place it into the frying pan. The trick to pouring is to pull up the ladle as the eggs enter the oil, so that it doesn’t crumple together. 
    • As the egg is cooking, quickly use the ‘sate stick’ and spin the stick around so that it collects the egg around the stick.

Plate and Serve!

Once everything is completed, take an adequate amount of sauce and place it in a small bowl.  The cooked and fried rolled egg on stick, will be placed on a plate ready to be served along with the sauce.
