    327 g Mozzarella Cheese, 3cm lengths

    100 g Potatoes

    6 Skewers

     

    Coating:

    100 g Wheat Flour

    50 g Cornstarch

    2 Eggs

    4 g White Pepper Powder

    4 g Salt

    125 ml Fresh Milk

    30 g Chili Sauce

    30 g Tomato Sauce

    30 g Mayonnaise

    600 ml Cooking Oil

Popularized by Koreans, Sosis Kentang Keju is similar to American corn dogs with a cheesy twist. But unlike the typical corn dog, this cheesy potato sausage is made of small cubes of potato held together by a mixture of flour, milk and eggs and topped with cheese and chili sauce. Deep fried for a satisfying crunch, it’s no wonder that this savory snack is quite a hit in Indonesia. Bring some Sosis Kentang Keju for a weekend picnic with your family.

Instructions

  1. Prepare Sausage, Cheese & Potatoes

    • Cut the sausages and mozzarella cheese into 3cm lengths and similar in size.

    • Take a skewer and thread the sausages first then the cheese at the top. Repeat for all.

    • Peel and cut the potatoes into ½ cm cubes.

  2. Make the batter

    • In a medium bowl, add flour, cornstarch, eggs, ground pepper, salt, milk and whisk well. 

    • Take a skewer and dip it into the batter. Make sure it’s well coated.

    • Roll the battered skewer into a plate with potato cubes. Press the potatoes into the batter to stick well.

  3. Fry the sausage skewers

     
    • In a frying pan, with some oil over medium heat, fry the sausages skewers until golden brown. Strain off excess oil. Repeat for all.

Plate and Serve!

Best served when warm. Drizzle with either chili sauce, tomato sauce or mayonnaise.
