Perkedel, or Frikadel, is a fried Indonesian snack that is usually made from potatoes and minced meat. For this Perkedel Tahu recipe, white tofu is used as the main ingredient instead. Seasoned with leeks, chicken powder and white pepper, the tofu is shaped into bite-sized patties before being fried.

Instructions

  1. Making the Tofu Dough

    • Puree the onion and garlic.
    • Prepare a bowl, then add the tofu, then mash the tofu by hand, just squeeze it until it crumbles.
    • Put the onion that has been mashed earlier, Leeks, Chicken Powder, Sugar, Salt and White Pepper Powder and stir until the ingredients are well mixed.
    • After the ingredients have been mixed evenly, take about 50 grams, form a round shape and slightly flatten it. Do this until the ingredients run out and set aside.

  2. Frying tofu patty

    • Fry the tofu patties over medium heat until they are golden brown then drain and set aside.

Plate and Serve!

Prepare a serving plate, then arrange the tofu cakes on a plate and serve.
