Ground Spice for Fried Rice
7 shallot
5 cloves of garlic
½ an onion
Ground Spice for Jerky
2 candlenuts, toasted
1 tbsp ground coriander
4 cm galangal
10 cloves of shallot
5 cloves of garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 tsp sugar
Dendeng / beef jerky ingredients:
350 grams of brisket, cut into squares
500 ml of oil, for frying
Fried rice ingredients:
400 grams of white rice
2 eggs, beaten
3 red bird's eye chilies, sliced
pepper to taste
1/4 tsp powdered chicken powder
1 spring onion, sliced
1 tablespoon fried shallots, for topping
Crackers for add on
2 tbsp oil, for sauteing
Marinade the brisket with the Ground Spice for an hour
Use fatty brisket to make the jerky, it will give your nasi goreng extra burst of flavour
Bake in the oven for 30 min in 150 degree oven
And deep fried until crispy and golden for about 5 min
Rinse and set aside
With high heat, Saute the ground spice with oil until fragrant for 2 min
Add the beaten egg, bird eye chili, chicken powder, pepper, spring onion and cook for about 3min
Add the rice and deep fried beef jerky and stir for 5 min until well mix and fragrant
Serve with cracker and fried shallot
