Instead of heading down to your favorite street stall, try making this popular snack yourself! Martabak Manis is definitely more rich and flavorful than traditional breakfast pancakes as it’s stuffed with chocolate, peanuts, sweet condensed milk and shredded cheese. Feel free to switch out the filling to suit your tastes when whipping up this sweet treat. Serve it hot and satisfy that supper craving anytime!

Instructions

  1. Make martabak battter

    • In a large bowl, add flour, water, eggs, sugar, yeast, baking powder, baking soda, ½ tsp salt, melted butter and milk powder, and whisk until well combined.
    • Bring up the whisk to check the consistency of the batter.
    • Let the batter rest or sit for approximately an hour or two for the ingredients to blend well.


  2. Fry martabak manis

    • Fry in thick frying pan until it’s bubbling, sprinkle some sugar and close with lid until fully cooked. (makes 4 small pan or 2 big frying pan).


Plate and Serve!

Place in cutting board, brush the martabak with butter, sprinkle toppings, cut and serve. Enjoy when it’s hot.
