    50 g Sweet Corn

    70 g Water Spinach Leaves

    70 g Spinach Leaves

    40 g Fresh Basil Leaves

    7 g Salt

    5 g Chicken Powder

    4 g Sugar

    2 g White Pepper

    1200 ml water

Bubur Manado (Traditional indonesian Porridge)

Have a power-packed breakfast with this nutritious Bubur Manado! Also known as Tinutuan, this traditional Indonesian porridge is filled with a tasty mix of pumpkin, sweet potatoes, corn, and spinach. The contrast in textures and flavors is definitely something to look forward to. Best enjoyed with fried salted fish and sambal for a wholesome meal.

Instructions

  1. Make porridge

    • Wash and soak the rice for 1 hour.
    • In a saucepan, add 1250ml water. Over medium heat, cook the rice to about half done, stirring constantly so that it doesn’t burn. Add salt, chicken powder, white pepper and sugar. Stir well.
    • Cut the pumpkin and sweet potatoes into 1cm cubes. Together with the corn, add them into the saucepan. Cook well. 
    • Add In the remaining vegetable leaves and cook until the vegetables wilt and integrate into the porridge.
    • Remove and set aside.
    Make porridge


Plate and Serve!

Serve the porridge with chili sauce and fried salted fish.
