Keripik Bawang (Onion Chips)

Keripik Bawang, or onion chips is a favorite go-to snack. Easily made with wheat flour, tapioca flour, shallots, and garlic, the flavour is simply delicious. The distinctive taste and aroma of the onions and garlic makes these salty and savory chips very addictive!

Directions

  1. Prepare the dough

    • Prepare a medium sized bowl and add all the ingredients

    • Mix all the ingredients until well blended and smooth. Divide the dough into 2.

    Thinly sliced chives and celery leaves can be added to the mix.

  2. Flatten the dough

     

    • Flatten the dough to a thickness of  ¼ cm. 

    • Then cut into 5 cm lengths or according to preference. Do the same with the other portion of the dough.

     

    A hand crank noodle roller can be used to flatten the chips dough.



  3. Fry the chips

    • Prepare hot oil, and fry the chips until golden brown. Drain off excess oil and set aside.

Plate and Serve!

  • Prepare a serving plate and transfer the onion chips onto the plate and serve.
