Kacang Telur (Egg Peanut Snack)

Almost everyone loves to eat nuts, be it peanuts, cashews, or other types of nuts. It's loved for its delicious taste, and can be highly addictive especially when watching your favorite series or a sports match. This recipe uses the Kacang Telur method, literally meaning egg peanuts. It is made with peanuts mixed with egg batter and dusted with flour, plus a few seasoning ingredients, and then deep fried. Kacang Telur makes a yummy addition to a gift hamper to share with family and friends during Eid festivities and other events.

Directions

  1. Prepare the batter

    • In a mixing bowl, add the eggs, sugar, salt, sugar, and butter. Stir until everything is well blended into a smooth batter.



  2. Coat penut in batter

    • Place the flour in a bowl or deep dish.

    • Put the peanuts into a medium-sized bowl, then take 3-4 tablespoons of the batter, and stir until evenly coating the peanuts. 

    • Then transfer the batter-coated peanuts into the flour and gently stir them around until all the peanuts are evenly coated and not lumpy.

    • Dust off the excess flour and repeat steps 3 and 4 a couple more times until the batter and flour completely encases the peanuts.

    The thickness of the crispy coating can be adjusted to preference, depending on how many times the batter and flour coating process is done.

  3. Deep fry the peanut

    • Heat the oil to medium and deep fry the coated peanuts until golden brown. Remove, drain the oil, and set aside.

  • Prepare a serving bowl, then transfer the Kacang Telur into the bowl and serve.
