Ice Seaweed Fruit, known locally as Es Buah Rumput Laut is a refreshing drink consisting of tropical fruit slices combined with seaweed and sweeteners. Served cold with ice cubes, this drink is a very satisfying thirst quencher. A great choice during iftar in the Ramadan month, or on hot and sunny days.

Directions

  1. Prepare the orange juice

    • Cut the oranges into halves, and squeeze for the juice with a squeezer, and set aside.

    Choose tart oranges, to balance with the added sugar syrup and honey.

  2. Prepare the kiwi

    • Peel the kiwi, cut into halves, and then into thin strips, and set aside.

  3. Prepare the avocado

    • Cut the avocado into half, remove the seed, and cut into 1 cm cubes, and set aside.

  4. Prepare the grapes

    • Split the grapes into halves, remove seeds and set aside.

    Grapes can be replaced with strawberries.



Assemble and serve!

  • In a glass or a bowl, add ice cubes and arrange pieces of kiwi, avocado, grapes, and seaweed.

  • Pour the orange juice, sugar syrup and honey, mix well, and serve.
