  • 50g Butter

  • 50g Onion, thinly sliced

  • 2 leeks, thinly sliced

  • 20g Garlic, coarsely chopped

  • 57g Honey

  • 95g Sweet Soy Sauce

  • 57g Tomato Sauce

  • 20g Red Cayenne Pepper, thinly sliced

  • 4g White Pepper Powder

  • 2g Salt

  • 18g Sugar

  • 5g Chicken Powder

  • 150ml Water

  • 5g White Sesame Seeds

Add an Asian twist to a classic “Western” dish with this delicious Chicken Wing Saus Pedas recipe! Coated in a sticky sweet soy sauce made with a generous amount of chili and kicap manis - arguably Indonesia’s favorite condiment - the crispy fried chicken is equal parts juicy, spicy, savory and ultimately tasty. Directions

  1. Marinate The Chicken Wings

    • Marinate the chicken wings with garlic, white pepper, chicken powder and let it sit in the chiller for about 20 minutes.

    • Deep fry the marinated chicken wings until golden brown and set aside. Drain off all excess oil.

  2. Make The Hot Sauce

    • With a skillet, sauté some onions, garlic, cayenne pepper, green onions with some butter until fragrant.

    • Add water, honey, sweet soy sauce, tomato sauce, white pepper and stir well.

    • Bring it to a boil.

    • Add the fried chicken wings into the sauce and coat well with the sauce.

    Make The Hot Sauce


Plate & Serve!

  • Top with sesame seeds and serve.
