Directions

  1. Making Sakura Cake Batter

    • In a bowl, add egg and sugar. With a mixer, beat well until the sugar is dissolved.

    • Gradually add flour and corn starch into the mix and mix well.

    • Add in baking soda and baking powder, stir well until blended.

    • Add condensed milk, butter and combine well.

    • Cover with cling wrap and let it sit for 30 minutes.

  2. Steaming the Cake

    • Grease the Sakura sponge mould well to prevent sticking.

    • Pour batter into the mould and leave about ½ cm gap at the top.

    • Cover the cake and steam the cake for about 15 – 20 minutes.

    • Once the cake is steamed, remove the lid and let it sit for 15 minutes before removing the cake from the mould.
