2 tbsp black tea
1 tsp salt
5 tbsp soy sauce
2 dried shiitake mushrooms
2 star anise
1 inch cinnamon stick
Enough water to cover eggs
Wash the eggs to remove any dirt from the shell.
Place all the ingredients in a pot and add water till it covers the eggs. Bring to a boil for 7 minutes on high heat.
Store unpeeled eggs and sauce in a container and let it soak overnight in the fridge for even more flavor!
Put the eggs back into the pot and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes.
Turn the heat off, let cool, peel and serve immediately.
