Ginger Lemon Honey, or Wedang Jahe as it is known in Indonesia, is a hot ginger drink of Javanese origin. Spice up your Wedang Jahe game by adding slices of aromatic lemongrass, cinnamon and turmeric. You only need to take a few sips of this healthy beverage to relax your mind, body and soul.

Instructions

  1. Bruise ginger

    • With a lemon squeezer, extract the juice and set aside.
    • Smash the ginger to release the juices and set aside

  2. Boil drink

    • In a pot, add water and bring it to a boil. Once it boils, add in ginger and reduce the heat. Simmer for 30 minutes. 
    • In a glass, add honey, lemon juice, turmeric and cinnamon according to taste.
    • Serve.

  3. Making ginger boils (ginger drink)

    • Prepare a pan, then add 600 ml of cooking water over high heat until it boils, then add the crushed ginger, and reduce the heat, for 30 minutes. Then prepare a glass, pour the ginger stew, add 30ml of honey, 15 ml of lemon and add turmeric and cinnamon (in the ginger stew) according to taste, and it's ready to serve
