Es Timun is a popular iced drink that can be found all over Aceh. While cucumber, syrup and lime are often used as the main ingredients in this refreshing Indonesian beverage, it’s not uncommon to add other ingredients into the mix to enhance the taste. Here, grapefruit or pomelo is served as a topping for an extra zesty sensation.

Instructions

  1. Prepare ingredients

    • Prepare ingredients such as grapefruit, cucumber, basil, lime, cocopandan syrup and ice cubes
    • Prepare a bowl and grater, then peel the cucumber and remove the seeds, then grate lengthwise, and set aside
    • Prepare a separate bowl, then peel the grapefruit.
    • Take the grapefruit pulp, and remove the seeds and set aside.


Chill and Serve!

Prepare a glass of cocopandan syrup, ice cube, grated cucumber, grapefruit pulp, and lime juice, decorated with lime and mint slices.
