Cathedral Window Gelatin Jelly

When cut, the inside of the Cathedral Window Gelatin looks like the stained glass windows found in cathedrals. So it comes as no surprise that this dessert is a common sight at special occasions such as Christmas. The colorful jelly cubes are suspended in a mold filled with a soft, creamy milk mixture before being placed in the fridge to set. Once ready, unmold and you will have yourself a dessert that is beloved by both the young and old!

Instructions

  1. Prepare and cook the colourful gelatins

    • Prepare and cook the red, yellow and green gelatin according to the instructions indicated on the package.
    • Once it is set, chop the colorful gelatins into cubes and set it aside.

  2. Cook the cream mixture

    • In a pot, combine 400g clear gelatin powder and water over medium heat and bring it to a boil. Mix until it is all well combined.
    • Next, turn the heat off and pour 350ml all-purpose cream and 100ml condensed milk in. Mix well. 
    • Pour the cream mixture into a bowl and set it aside.

  3. Combine the gelatins

    • Grease a clear bowl with melted butter.
    • Pour the cream mixture into the bowl and place the colourful gelatin cubes in.
    • Wrap the bowl with cling wrap and chill in a refrigerator until cool and the gelatin has set

Plate and Serve!

Once the gelatin is set, carefully unmold into a plate and slice before serving.
