Everyone loves a good story, and Futago Ya is an endearing one that will make your dining experience quite a sentimental journey. Founded by siblings Yuka, Yuki, and Kogi, their beginnings were humble: selling onigiri in furoshiki wraps while attending classes in university.

Futago Ya is now a warm little space tucked in Melawai — only 2 minutes away from MRT Blok M Station—where not only do you get to indulge in Japanese-Indonesian (Japindo) dishes, you can even make new friends there!

The chef’s recommendation and crowd favorite is the Creamy Miso Udon (IDR 40,000) inspired by Sop Kaki Kambing. Other favorites include Brisket Don (IDR 30,000), Gyoza Creamy (IDR 35,000) Onigiri Salmay, and Onigiri Cakalang (IDR 15,000).
