AFN Recommends: 5 Places to Try This February

5 reasons to dine out this February.

Be it a celebration or just the need for a little perk-me-up, there are always new dishes to try around town that’ll make it worth leaving the house for. Here are some of our favourites this month!

Rockon Tokyo

Looking for authentic Japanese Obanzai? Rockon Tokyo serves up true obanzai in traditional Kyoto home-cooked style that’s heartwarming and in its best form without any MSG or preservatives. With ingredients delivered every few days directly from Japan, you can expect fresh cuts on their 8-course Omakase set meal (SGD$88++). It includes a starter, an assortment of obanzai, a warm dish, seasonal sashimi, charcoal-grilled seasonal fish, seasonal fried fish, Tamago Kake Gohan (steamed rice is served under a blanket of torched egg white meringue and egg yolk) and a dessert. Add an oomph to your Omakase with their flex-worthy Rock On! Tokyo Treasure Box or Gout-O I.C.U (Ikura-Caviar-Uni).

Fun fact: Rockon’s name is derived from the Japanese word ‘Roku’, which means number 6. It invites you to listen to your sixth sense and pick your favourite.
